Football Recap: Mercer Island Drops Highest Score of Season Against Renton + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mercer Island). They were the clear victors by a 51-25 margin over the Renton Red Hawks on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Islanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercer Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kainoa Brown, who rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Brown a new career-high. Andy Skimming was another key passer, throwing for 181 yards and three TDs.

Mercer Island didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Renton to a completion percentage of just 41.7%. The Islanders hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.46 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Mercer Island didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jonah Battema and Riley Anderson.

When it comes to explaining why Renton lost, don't look at Wisdom Bryon. Despite the final result, he picked up 146 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The win got Mercer Island back to even at 3-3. As for Renton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
