Shelby came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 81-51 victory over the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 74-58 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Omari Whiteside, who posted 14 points and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Roseboro, who went 7 for 9 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds.

Shelby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.

Shelby's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby will take on Burns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will face off against Cherryville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy is facing Cherryville at the right time seeing as Cherryville is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
