Baseball Recap: West Jones Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times West Jones and Pearl River Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs fell 4-1 to the Blue Devils on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat last Thursday.

West Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pearl River Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Jones is set to face off against their familiar foe Terry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pearl River Central will challenge rival Hattiesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Tigers a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
