Softball Recap: Bishop Brady's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Bishop Brady came tearing into Monday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Monadnock Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Giants have posted since April 16th.

Payton Bryson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Archambault was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bishop Brady's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Monadnock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-3 record this season.
