Basketball Game Preview: Hansberry Bengals vs. Thornridge Falcons

The Hansberry Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Thornridge Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hansberry is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Noble Street College Prep just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell to the Golden Tigers 33-28.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Miyay Jordan, who posted seven points along with five boards and four steals. She has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Lillian Rushing was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Thornridge took a blow against Bloom on Thursday, falling 61-30. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 91st).

Hansberry's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Thornridge, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
