Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Damascus). They put the hurt on the Magruder Colonels with a sharp 62-36 win on Monday. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Colonels are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Damascus' third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Magruder, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Damascus will host Quince Orchard at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Magruder has already played their next game (against Springbrook), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
