Softball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Woodcrest Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arrowhead Christian). They blew past the Woodcrest Christian Royals 21-10 on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Allie Chavez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off 13 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Leila Mouri was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Emma Ebnit was another key player, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Arrowhead Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Arrowhead Christian and bumps their season record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Woodcrest Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Arrowhead Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-4 victory against Notre Dame on the 8th. As for Woodcrest Christian, they have also already played their next match, an 18-3 loss against Linfield Christian on the 8th.
