Football Game Preview: Clinton Cardinals vs. Center Yellowjackets + Official Tickets

Clinton hasn't had much luck against Center recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cardinals will head out to face off against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Clinton after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warrensburg. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Cardinals couldn't quite close it out.

Despite their defeat, Clinton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brody Barnhart, who rushed for 68 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 30 receiving yards, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Camden Westendorff, who threw for 184 yards on eight of 18 attempts.

Meanwhile, Center was beaten by Pleasant Hill 49-12 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Roosters/Chicks: they've now lost three in a row.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Center, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Clinton against Center in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
