Football Recap: Paoli Skates Past Midway with Ease

Paoli never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Midway on Friday. They blew past the Chargers 58-6. With the Pugs ahead 58-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Braxton Compton had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also threw for 65 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Paoli was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Paoli's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cobey Williamson and Tyler Collins, who racked up six sacks between them. With that strong performance, Collins is now averaging an impressive 114.3 rushing yards per game. Lane Branscum got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Paoli back to even at 2-2. As for Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Paoli will face off against Maysville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pugs will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Midway, they will take on Sasakwa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
