Recap: Vaux Big Picture vs. Roxborough Wolves

Vaux Big Picture had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Roxborough by a score of 69-59 on Tuesday. Vaux Big Picture's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Cameron Rembert, who scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Rembert is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kurtis Jackson, who scored 17 points.

When it comes to explaining why Roxborough lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Sahir Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Roxborough were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vaux Big Picture only posted three assists.

Vaux Big Picture's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Roxborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vaux Big Picture will square off against George Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully George Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. Roxborough will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Philadelphia Electric Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Roxborough is ranked 242nd).
