Basketball Game Preview: Hazen Wildcats vs. Stowe Raiders

Hazen has gone a perfect 10-0 against Stowe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hazen Wildcats will welcome the Stowe Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

Hazen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Montpelier, who was ranked second at the time (Hazen was ranked ninth). Hazen had to suffer through a 81-33 loss at the hands of Montpelier. The Wildcats have struggled against the Solons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Stowe posted their closest win since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 victory over Oxbow. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Olympians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Stowe's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.

Everything came up roses for Hazen against Stowe in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-33 win. Will Hazen repeat their success, or does Stowe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
