Basketball Game Preview: Solon Spartans vs. Marion Wolves

The Solon Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Marion Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Solon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Center Point-Urbana. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marion). They were the clear victor by a 73-48 margin over Independence on Tuesday. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Solon's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Marion, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.

Solon won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup on January 14th, slipping by Marion 51-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Solon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
