Softball Recap: Newburyport Comes Up Short

Newburyport lost against Danvers back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Clippers came up short against the Falcons, falling 15-3. The game marked the Clippers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Clara Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Katie Kebler also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Newburyport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Danvers, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Newburyport will take on Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Danvers, they will face off against Winthrop at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
