Basketball Recap: Dominic Duran and Xavier Ledet Secure Win for Cactus

Cactus won the last time they faced Peoria and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cactus Cobras enjoyed a cozy 56-39 victory over the Peoria Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cobras.

Leading Cactus to victory were Xavier Ledet and Dominic Duran. Ledet posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Duran went 7 for 12 en route to 18 points. Those five steals gave Ledet a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Browen, who earned four points and eight boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Cactus was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cactus' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Peoria, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Cactus will head out on the road to challenge Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cactus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Peoria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Estrella Foothills will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Peoria surely won't give up without a fight.
