Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Heights Huskies vs. Lapel Bulldogs

The Hamilton Heights Huskies will challenge the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hamilton Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down Jay County 73-57.

Hamilton Heights found their leader in freshman Riley Suarez, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and ten rebounds. Suarez's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Zoey Curry, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 18 points and six boards.

Hamilton Heights smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Lapel strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Frankton, posting a 63-18 win. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lapel's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Hamilton Heights, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Hamilton Heights took a serious blow against Lapel in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 60-16. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Huskies were down 39-7.
