Basketball Game Preview: Wolfe County Wolves vs. Knott County Central Patriots

The Wolfe County Wolves will take on the Knott County Central Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Knott County Central likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Wolfe County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 72-68 to Powell County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Wolves still had to take the loss.

Knott County Central might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-38 to Bell County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wolfe County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Knott County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-11.

Things could have been worse for Wolfe County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-55 loss to Knott County Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024.
