South St. Paul hasn't had much luck against Hastings recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Packers are taking a road trip to square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. South St. Paul is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

South St. Paul will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Simley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Packers came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 6-2 on Friday.

Audrey Madson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Madson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chloe O'Neill was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Emma Mauer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Hastings entered their tilt with Two Rivers on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Warriors.

Hastings' win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for South St. Paul, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

South St. Paul couldn't quite finish off Hastings when the teams last played last Tuesday and fell 3-1. Can the Packers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
