Basketball Recap: Wiggins Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Wiggins had won seven straight home games dating back to last season and Kennedy Kerr did her part to make it eight on Saturday. The Wiggins Tigers put the hurt on the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs with a sharp 52-29 win thanks in part to Kerr, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 23 points along with seven steals and six boards. Kerr is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kellie Vicchrilli, who posted five points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Wiggins' record is now 6-1. As for Haxtun, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiggins will venture away from home to square off against Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Wiggins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Haxtun, they will challenge Kimball at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
