Basketball Recap: 20 Straight Road Wins for Swansboro

Swansboro came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the West Carteret Patriots with a sharp 64-44 win. With the Pirates ahead 35-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Swansboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tayvion Tangiora, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Tangiora has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonah Holt, who went 7-for-17 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Swansboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carteret only posted three assists.

When it comes to explaining why West Carteret lost, don't look at Jack Bell. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Bell a new career-high. Jejuan Tripp was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Swansboro pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.9 points over those games. As for West Carteret, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Swansboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 85-64 win against White Oak on the 14th. As for West Carteret, they have also already played their next game, an 82-77 victory against Croatan on the 14th.
