Recap: Milford Bearcats vs. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils
The Milford Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They lost to Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the road by a decisive 50-32 margin. Milford has struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as their match on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kami Muehling, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Muehling is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Madisyn Laffoon was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin was led to victory by Marleigh Schmit and Gentry Elson. Schmit scored 15 points, while Elson scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Elson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ella Myers, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Milford now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will take on the Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Schlarman comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Georgetown-Ridge Farm is ranked 443rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 440th).
