Baseball Game Preview: KIPP Collegiate phoenix vs. Douglass Red Devils

The KIPP Collegiate phoenix will head out to take on the Douglass Red Devils at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Wednesday, KIPP Collegiate didn't have quite enough to beat Trezevant and fell 7-5. The phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to Lakeland Preparatory. The match marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for KIPP Collegiate, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

KIPP Collegiate took their victory against Douglass in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the phoenix since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
