Football Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it six. They came up short against the Keswick Christian Crusaders, falling 35-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 23-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Although Bishop McLaughlin Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Clurman and Ayden Ponce.

As for Keswick Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average this season.

Keswick Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Cook, who threw for 243 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. Landon Pauley-Sherman was another key player, picking up 103 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will square off against Anclote at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Keswick Christian, they will face off against Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
