Fort Bend Elkins falls despite strong effort from Paris Anderson

The Fort Bend Elkins Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-38 to Fort Bend Bush. Fort Bend Elkins was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Bend Bush apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Bend Elkins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Paris Anderson. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. The game was Anderson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne Trusclair, who scored eight points.

Fort Bend Bush found their leader in underclassman Danielle Okogwu, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jadesyn Hardeman was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.

Fort Bend Elkins now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Fort Bend Bush, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-9.

Fort Bend Elkins will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Bend Hightower at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Hightower presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Bend Elkins in Texas (Fort Bend Hightower is ranked 56th, while Fort Bend Elkins is ranked 715th). As for Fort Bend Bush, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bend Clements at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Clements is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
