Volleyball Recap: Howell Central Takes a Loss

Howell Central managed to slip by Fort Zumwalt West the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Jaguars on Thursday. The Spartans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

While Howell Central was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Fort Zumwalt West's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-22.

Audrey Lashbrook was nothing short of spectacular for Fort Zumwalt West: she had 17 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Lashbrook has posted over her last ten contests. Jetta Jones also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Howell Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Fort Zumwalt West, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Howell Central will face off against Eureka at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The last five games the Wildcats have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fort Zumwalt West, they will be playing at home against Howell North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
