Softball Recap: North Pontotoc's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Pontotoc had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Byhalia Indians a 14-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

North Pontotoc got a big performance out of Rayn Naugle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Naugle a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Lacie Simmons, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

North Pontotoc always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Pontotoc now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Byhalia, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Pontotoc will take on Tupelo at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Byhalia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Strayhorn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
