Jake Yenser made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Yenser wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Ligenza, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ace Schickram also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Pottsville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tri-Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-6. The Crimson Tide have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alan Kushwarra made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Tamaqua pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Pottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Tamaqua came out on top in a nail-biter against Pottsville when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
