Softball Recap: Lowry Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Lowry faced Churchill County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Buckaroos never let the Greenwave get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buckaroos.

Not much got past Makinley Hislop, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Churchill County off the board. Hislop has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dana Micone, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Lowry's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Churchill County, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-8.

Lowry will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Greenwave: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
