It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cherokee Bluff had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the North Hall Trojans 3-2. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Cherokee Bluff can attribute much of their success to Josephine Lundy, who had 18 digs and five assists. Lundy has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played.
Cherokee Bluff was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Hall only served seven.
When it comes to explaining why North Hall lost, don't look at Darby Ward. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and three aces. Ava Volle also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Cherokee Bluff's record is now 30-13. As for North Hall, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 29-14 record.
Cherokee Bluff has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Academy of Richmond County on the 25th. North Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
