Basketball Recap: Prospect Ridge Academy Comes Up Short

If Prospect Ridge Academy was riding high fresh off their 74-48 takedown of Eagle Ridge Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners lost to the Kent Denver Sun Devils at home by a 91-72 margin on Tuesday. The Miners haven't had much luck with the Sun Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Prospect Ridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Brandt dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Brandt is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Travis Agbosse was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Kent Denver was led to victory by Caleb Fay and Elvis Lloyd. Fay dropped a double-double with 37 points and 12 rebounds, while Lloyd dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Lloyd has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Josiah Seyoum, who scored seven points.

Prospect Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Kent Denver, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Prospect Ridge Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-52 win against Jefferson Academy on the 13th. As for Kent Denver, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 107-32 victory against Platte Canyon on the 13th.
