Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Brighton Bengals

Highland has gone 8-2 against Brighton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Highland Rams will head out to take on the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. Highland will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Highland is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Olympus on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Highland took a blow against Olympus, falling 62-28. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Despite the defeat, Highland had strong showings from Katinia Olevao, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points, and Meredith Kimball, who posted five points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Olevao a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, Brighton lost to West at home by a 63-44 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Highland's record is now 0-12. As for Brighton, their record is now 7-6.

Highland might still be hurting after the 53-31 loss they got from Brighton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Highland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
