Volleyball Recap: Hannah Shafer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bonneville

Coeur d'Alene's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bonneville Bees as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Vikings were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bees, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

Coeur d'Alene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hannah Shafer, who had six aces and five digs. That's the most aces Shafer has posted since back in August. Bridget Maiani was another key player, getting 17 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Coeur d'Alene was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonneville only served six.

Coeur d'Alene's record is now 16-2. As for Bonneville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Coeur d'Alene wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Highland on the 4th. As for Bonneville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Lakeland on the 4th.
