Basketball Game Preview: Rock Creek Academy Lions vs. Portland Christian Eagles

The Rock Creek Academy Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Portland Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Creek Academy will be strutting in after a win while Portland Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Rock Creek Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Columbus Christian 55-32 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lions have posted since December 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, Portland Christian was beaten by Central 72-23 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 68th).

Portland Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Rock Creek Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Rock Creek Academy took their victory against Portland Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2019 by a conclusive 71-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rock Creek Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
