Baseball Recap: Saucon Valley Comes Up Short

Saucon Valley suffered their biggest loss since April 20, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 8-1 to the Southern Lehigh Spartans. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Panthers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Saucon Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Hubert, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Saucon Valley moved to 13-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Southern Lehigh, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saucon Valley will head out to take on Palisades at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southern Lehigh, they will venture away from home to challenge Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
