Basketball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Sherman Oaks CES unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taft Toreadors on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 76-71 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sherman Oaks CES still got an impressive performance from Andre O'Daniel, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine assists. The contest was O'Daniel's seventh in a row with at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Diego Robles, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Coming up, Sherman Oaks CES will head out on the road to face off against Gardena at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Taft, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Notre Dame (SO) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
