Basketball Recap: Lina Ballin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Springville

There's no place like home for Timpview, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-50 win over the Springville Red Devils on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-42 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lina Ballin, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points and six steals. Ballin's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Tasi Galeai was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 15 points.

When it comes to explaining why Springville lost, don't look at Natalie Florence. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points. The dominant performance gave Florence a new career-high in points.

Timpview's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6. As for Springville, their record now sits at 9-8.

Timpview will take on Salem Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Salem Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Springville, they will be playing at home against Wasatch at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Wasatch also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.9 points per game.
