Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 18-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. Bald Eagle Area's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Carson Nagle threw for 203 yards and a touchdown. Gavin Burns was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Louden Murphy, who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries for Southern Columbia Area. Murphy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Garrett Garcia and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Southern Columbia Area's victory.
Bald Eagle Area's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Southern Columbia Area, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Bald Eagle Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southern Columbia Area will face off against Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunmore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Southern Columbia Area is ranked 33rd).
