Hermitage hasn't had much luck against Godwin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hermitage will be strutting in after a win while Godwin will be coming in after a defeat.
Hermitage is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against L.C. Bird by a score of 8-3 on Thursday.
Sam Maxwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Bryce Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Davis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Hermitage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Godwin and Matoaca, and Matoaca kept the tradition alive. The Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6 on Monday.
Godwin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Boyd, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Eli Macturk also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Hermitage's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Godwin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Hermitage's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Godwin, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hermitage continue to outrun the ball?
Hermitage might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Godwin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
