Volleyball Game Preview: Doherty Spartans vs. Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans

The Doherty Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Doherty came up short against Pueblo West on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson entered their tilt with Liberty on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lancers. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Fountain-Fort Carson was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-16.

Fountain-Fort Carson's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Doherty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Doherty skirted past Fountain-Fort Carson 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
