Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Christian's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Lake Worth Christian was the 56-43 winner over Oxbridge Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Worth Christian Defenders fell just short of the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves by a score of 67-64 on Thursday. The Defenders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Defenders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landen Harwood, who went 10 of 15 en route to 26 points and four steals. Harwood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Troncale, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Oxbridge Academy was led to victory by James Deyoung and Jayden St. Fort. Deyoung went 8 of 13 en route to 22 points, while St. Fort went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points. That's the most points Deyoung has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Edmyer StJean, who posted 11 points.

Lake Worth Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Oxbridge Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-11.

Lake Worth Christian has already played their next match, a 61-41 win against Pine on the 10th. As for Oxbridge Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-50 victory against Highlands Christian on the 10th.
