Baseball Recap: Woodhaven Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Woodhaven, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let the Carlson Marauders get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in April.

The result came thanks to Talan Holladay-Smith's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodhaven saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Moritz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Woodhaven's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Carlson, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Woodhaven is set to square off against their familiar foe Allen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.5, the Jaguars 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Carlson will challenge rival Anderson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
