Recap: McDowell Titans vs. Burns Bulldogs
The McDowell Titans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Burns. Despite the win, that was the fewest points McDowell has scored all season.
Rylan Parkins was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. Another player making a difference was David Olivo, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Burns saw an underclassman step up: Jadon Beam scored 16 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Beam scored 15 or more points. Kamari Surratt was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
McDowell's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Burns, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
McDowell will head out on the road to face off against South Caldwell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burns will be home for the holidays to greet Polk County at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
