The Croatan Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Havelock Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Croatan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Croatan came up short against Swansboro on Friday, falling 11-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Croatan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Demercurio, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Havelock suffered their closest defeat since May 7, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Jacksonville by a score of 5-3.

Croatan's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Havelock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Everything went Croatan's way against Havelock when the teams last played back in March, as Croatan made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
