Softball Recap: Saluda Find Success

Saluda lost to Chapin back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Saluda Tigers walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Chapin Eagles.

Saluda got a great performance from Kylee McGlohorn as she struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Abby Moore was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jayme Sheaffer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Saluda lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Saluda's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Chapin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Saluda will square off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapin, they will face off against Dutch Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapin is facing Dutch Fork at the right time seeing as Dutch Fork is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
