Baseball Recap: East Hamilton Beats Red Bank for Their Fifth Straight Win

East Hamilton waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Red Bank Lions 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 11-1 loss.

Griffin Phillips tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last three matchups.

At the plate, Peyton Harris was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of East Hamilton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 9-1 (and 9-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Grayson Maddox, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

East Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 18-15. As for Red Bank, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Hamilton will take on McMinn Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Bank, they will host Hixson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Lions have won four straight at home, while the Wildcats won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
