Baseball Game Preview: Branchville Yellow Jackets vs. Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators

The Branchville Yellow Jackets will challenge the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators on Friday. Branchville will be strutting in after a win while Lowcountry Leadership will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Branchville was able to grind out a solid victory over Edisto, taking the game 6-3. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Henry Phalen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Chayse Lytle was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mason McCormack, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Branchville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lowcountry Leadership came up short against First Baptist School on Monday, falling 12-2. The NaviGators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lowcountry Leadership now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Branchville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Branchville took their win against Lowcountry Leadership when the teams last played back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 20-2. Does Branchville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lowcountry Leadership turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
