Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Belvidere North Blue Thunder

The Lutheran Crusaders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Belvidere North Blue Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lutheran and Boylan Catholic, and Boylan Catholic kept the tradition alive. Lutheran fell 8-3 to Boylan Catholic on Monday. The Crusaders have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Jake Guse was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Nate Ling was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Belvidere North was able to grind out a solid win over Prairie Ridge on Friday, taking the game 5-2.

Lutheran now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Belvidere North, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
