Baseball Recap: Roseville Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Roseville's offense. They fell just short of the Yuba City Honkers by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Honkers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Tyler Ritter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Roseville is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Roseville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Pettersen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Roseville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Yuba City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

While Roseville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
