Basketball Recap: Wood County Christian Takes a Loss

Wood County Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 85-48 loss at the hands of the Heartland Christian Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcat came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 104th in West Virginia, while the Lions are ranked 394th in Ohio).

Wood County Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Heartland Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Wood County Christian has already played their next match, a 73-57 loss against Valley on the 14th. As for Heartland Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
