Basketball Recap: Palm Bay Skates Past North Marion with Ease

Palm Bay extended their postseason success on Thursday against North Marion. They blew past the North Marion Colts, posting an 81-22 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Palm Bay was led to victory by Trishay Collins and Erynn Moffett. Collins posted eight points along with seven steals and three blocks, while Moffett went 7-for-8 en route to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Collins a new career-high in assists (three). Carleyssia Wallace was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Palm Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Marion only pulled down four offensive boards.

Despite the defeat, North Marion saw an underclassman step up: freshman JAMEYA BROWN earned 13 points and five boards. That was a full 59.1% of North Marion's points, marking the fourth time in a row BROWN has had more than a third of the team's points.

Palm Bay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 47.8 points. As for North Marion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.

Palm Bay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 89-24 victory against Lake Region on the 18th. North Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
