Basketball Recap: Southeast Career Tech Victorious

Awaken Christian came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Southeast Career Tech, but Edward Arellano wouldn't allow it. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners walked away with a 50-43 win over the Awaken Christian Lions on Thursday thanks in part to Arellano, who posted 23 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Awaken Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Kepler, who put up 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Kepler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Higgins, who had nine points and three steals.

Southeast Career Tech now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Awaken Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Southeast Career Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-33 victory against Spring Mountain on the 3rd. As for Awaken Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-23 loss against Boulder City on the 3rd.
